Brenton J. Allison

Biography:

Brent has spent his career standing up for those who need it most. Licensed to practice law in Texas since 2003, Brent is also admitted in the Southern and Eastern Federal Districts of Texas and the Federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Before becoming an attorney, Brent worked at sea as a ship’s officer aboard an oil tanker, giving him a true understanding of the dangers maritime workers face every day.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation from Texas A&M University and holds a United States Coast Guard Merchant Marine Officer’s License (Third Mate, Unlimited Tonnage; Second Mate, Limited to 3000-gross tons; and a Master’s License for vessels up to 1600-gross tons). Brent later earned his Juris Doctor with a Certification in Maritime Law from Tulane Law School, graduating cum laude in 2003. While at Tulane, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal (Volume 27).

Brent brings that same commitment and drive to every case he handles at Gilman & Allison, LLP. He understands that his clients are often facing some of the hardest moments of their lives, and he fights tirelessly to help them rebuild.

When Brent isn’t in the courtroom or working on behalf of his clients, you can usually find him offshore fishing or spending quality time with his children, which he considers his greatest joy.
